Start A Blog With 4 Easy Steps 2018

Have you thought about starting a blog but you don’t know where to start? In this post I will show you an easy four step way in order to start your own blog in 2018. Okay you may have heard you need to niche down first to get started but that’s not completely true. All though it will help in many cases but if your unsure of your niche then your still going to be thinking of what niche you should write about. Which will just keep you from actually starting your blog and having it out there for everyone to see. So why not get started today?

What To Blog About

First of all what exactly is a niche you may be wondering? A niche is basically a topic that you’ll be writing about in your blog. Some good examples would be lifestyle, fashion, health/fitness, and making money online. Now if you don’t have a niche that you know you want to write about then that’s okay. I would recommend you start a lifestyle blog about some of your past experiences or about your accomplishments.

You never know it may help someone else out who is going through something right now or it may even just give others some advice. That way you should have a lot of different things to write about. While writing posts on your blog you’ll be getting a lot of practice and could end up running into your niche. Then you could easily start writing about what really interests you. Are you still unsure of what to write about?

What Blogging Platform

Of course if you want to start a blog absolutely free you could do that as well; some of the free blogging platforms are WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, and Weebly. There is of course some more free blogging platforms but that’s just a few to give you an idea. Now the thing about free blogging platforms is you don’t own it so it’s not actually your site. Your url would look something like this www.saltermom.bloggerspot.com instead of just being something simple like this www.saltermom.com. With the free platforms they can shut down your site if they wanted to and not even have to tell you.

Why or How? Because it’s their site so they can do whatever they please with it. Now if you want to be able to make an income off your blogging then you would need your own platform. When you have a self hosted platform one that you pay for your actually the owner of it. You can do whatever you desire to do to your site. You can make your site look however you want, make an income off it, write whatever you want, and add whatever you want to it.

What Domain Name

This can be kind of hard to decide what domain name you want but don’t let that stop you from starting your blog! It can be anything you want it to be from your own name or something unique. An example would be something like www.qtee’s.com or www.saltermom.com. I do recommend using something that’s easy to remember though because of course you want people to remember your site. You would want it to be something that’s simple, easy to remember, and easy to spell.

What Web Hosting
Web Hosting

Most people always recommend BlueHost for a web hosting site but I recommend using SiteGround and I’ll tell you why. If you’re wanting to make an income off your blog (which most people are) then it’s going to be really important for your site to be running smoothly and is reliable. If something goes wrong on your site and you have to wait 10 minutes just to get help your going to get frustrated pretty quickly. SiteGround is much faster, safer, and their support is great! It’s totally up to you though on what web hosting you decide to choose. If you do however decide to go with them here’s my link https://www.siteground.com/go/salter and you’ll get 60% off.

I’ll also receive a commission if you do decide to purchase from them but it will be no extra cost to you. This is one of the great things that you could even do on your blog but I’ll talk more about that in another post.
