Do you have bad credit? I know I do and I’m not ashamed to admit it. You can easily bring your credit from being poor to good though with some of these ideas. I’m personally using these methods as well to build my credit up now!
One thing you can do and you should is dispute errors on your credit report. You can go to CreditKarma.com and sign up to get your FREE credit report. It really actually helps to check on your credit report often so you can catch any errors. A lot of collection agencies can have errors on the report which could not be your fault, so that’s why it’s good to check for them and dispute them. Majority of people want to check your credit report if you want a new phone or car so why not have your credit score on hand?
Another thing you can do is gradually pay off your debt which I know most of you probably already know but for those of you who don’t there you go. Sometimes creditors will be willing to accept just 50% of what you owe because they will still get paid. All you have to do is give the creditor a call and see what options you might have. I’m personally paying off my student loans right now and I’ve got a long way to go but I’m doing it! If you have student loans as well, they do offer a lot of different options on paying them back.
You could also build your credit by paying your bills on time. If you tend to forget about a bill that’s due set up auto-pay if that makes things easier. Or if it helps you could always call in advance to ask for more time to pay your bill that way you won’t get a negative impact on your credit report.
Lastly the most easiest way to build credit is to get a secured credit card. Now I’m not talking about getting one to mess up your credit even more neither. I mean with responsible use you can easily build your credit. I like to share what I personally have done, used, and what I am going to do because I want to be as honest as I can be! Some credit card company’s will report to the three credit bureaus if you’ve been making your payments on time and in full. Just make sure if you do decide to get one that you check to see if that credit card offers that.
I recently got a secured credit card as well but I’ll only be using it for the cheapest thing each month so I’ll be able to pay off my bill. If you have kids (like me) you can just use your credit card for baby wipes or diapers. Buy them every month or week whichever you prefer and pay off your bill either before or on the due date.
